We are honored to be working with the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance with regards to the Mountain State 22 initiative. The Jackson County 22 program is still in its beginning phases and more information will be coming soon. In the meantime, if you are reading this and interested in participating or have some great ideas for this program, please reach out to us by clicking here or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Everyday, 20 veterans commit suicide nationwide on average. This statistic comes from the latest data released by the Department of Veterans Affairs. This is down from the study released in 2013 that declared 22 veterans were committing suicide daily. Although we are pleased that the number has gone down, even one suicide is too many especially when these brave men and women already gave so much for our country.
The Veterans Crisis Line connects Veterans in crisis and their families and friends with qualified, caring Department of Veterans Affairs responders through a confidential toll-free hotline, online chat, or text. Veterans and their loved ones can call 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1, chat online, or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
